1. Run "xorgconfig" or use the good old XFdrake (or the MCC)

2. Nope, at least I don't know of such a metapackage. But if you "urpmi gcc", the dependencies will be solved, so it is not really difficult. You can also sort the packages in MCC by name/section, so you automatically get an idea what packages you need to install.
