kjc5664 Posted May 4, 2006 Report Share Posted May 4, 2006 Just installed Intel 820 Dual Core CPU/ASRock 775Dual -880Pro MB combo. 1 GB Geil DDR ram. When booting with kenerl 2.6.12-18. Everything works fine. I Installed the SMP kernel kernel-smp-2.6.12.18mdksmp. Now I just get the penguin boot screen. But.. the progress bar shows no progress. I tried pressing the ESC key to watch the boot progress. However. It appears that the KB has been locked out. As nothing happens when I press the escape key. kjc5664 Posted May 5, 2006 Author Report Share Posted May 5, 2006 I solved the problem purely by empirical efforts. Configure Your Computer ->Boot->Set up how your system boots-> Check Enable ACPI.
