Weird panel behavior

I have a strange problem in Gnome: i created a custom panel, not expandable, wich conteins only application launchers.

The panel is at the bottom centet of a screen. When i log out and log in again all icons disappear. If i alter the visual appearence of the panel the icons become visible again. I tried to play with panel's properties in Configuration Editor but it didn't help me much.

I had the same panel on MDK10.1 - there it worked ok.

this is how it looks:

How can i fix this?

Thanks.

I was able to reproduce this on my my fedora lappy and I solved it for now by cleaning the config files. I guess that it is a problem of one config line in the /.gconf and /.gnome files, thus you could try to copy the current config files to a backup folder and start with clean config files. Maybe that fixes it for you, too.

Often with these oddities the best thing to do is clear your config files and restart from scratch as arctic suggests. It's somewhat of a pain in the arse, but less so than tracking down the problematic config file/option.
