maparus
What's the contents of your /etc/fstab file? I don't show a file in /etc/ with the name fstab
mystified
You have to have an /etc/fstab. It's what lists your partitions and mount points among other things. It won't be a directory, just a file.
ianw1974
There should be one, since your system wouldn't boot without it.

I found it # This file is edited by fstab-sync - see 'man fstab-sync' for details /dev/hda1 / ext3 defaults 1 1 /dev/hda6 /home ext3 defaults 1 2 /dev/hdc /mnt/cdrom auto umask=0,user,iocharset=iso8859-1,codepage=850,noauto,ro,exec,users 0 0 /dev/hdd /mnt/cdrom2 auto umask=0,user,iocharset=iso8859-1,codepage=850,noauto,ro,exec,users 0 0 none /mnt/floppy supermount dev=/dev/fd0,fs=ext2:vfat,--,umask=0,iocharset=iso8859-1,sync,codepage=850 0 0 none /proc proc defaults 0 0 /dev/hda5 swap swap defaults 0
ianw1974
This is how my cd line is: /dev/hdc /mnt/cdrom auto umask=0,user,iocharset=iso8859-15,codepage=850,noauto,ro,exec,users 0 0 the only different is the iso8859-15 compared to your iso8859-1, so not sure if this would make a difference or not. Might be worth a try, you can always change it back if it doesn't work.
