CD-ROM read or access error

When I start KsCD I get this CD-ROM error

 

CD-ROM read or access error (or no audio disc in drive).

Please make sure you have access permissions to:

media:/hdc

 

I have to reconfigure KsCD again for the CD to play. Play another CD I have to reconfigure again

I don't show a file in /etc/ with the name fstab

You have to have an /etc/fstab. It's what lists your partitions and mount points among other things. It won't be a directory, just a file.

This is how my cd line is:

 

/dev/hdc /mnt/cdrom auto umask=0,user,iocharset=iso8859-15,codepage=850,noauto,ro,exec,users 0 0

 

the only different is the iso8859-15 compared to your iso8859-1, so not sure if this would make a difference or not. Might be worth a try, you can always change it back if it doesn't work.
