sjaglin
Sorry, I think this was a previous topic but can t find nor remember it. A quick Google and I m still not happy bunny! I installed recently Firefox 1.5 because the scrapbook extension was not working on the original version shipped with mdv 2006. Since all is real good except that I can t read Windows media player streams amy more. (europe1 is the website I use to listen to the French radia as I live in the UK). Can you remind me quickly how to make this work again please??? Ta! Stef [moved from Installing Mandriva by spinynorman]

ianw1974
One other thing, just realised. I've got FF1.5 as well, which I installed into /usr/local/mozilla/firefox. This is what else I did: mv /usr/local/mozilla/firefox/plugins/libnullplugin.so /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins rm /usr/local/mozilla/firefox/plugins -rdf ln -s /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins /usr/local/mozilla/firefox/plugins that way, if you install any Mandriva apps, they get the firefox extensions from the FF1.0.x that comes with Mandriva by default. sjaglin
Thanks Ian, I ve done both and I m afraid still no joy. At least I can now listen to the radio with kmplayer but firefox still doesn't want to know! I will kill a few aliens (X3) and come back to it in a while... ianw1974
I can only think it's not finding your firefox plugins correctly or something  I know mine didn't work at first, until I did the symlink, then it was perfectly fine after that. Of course, your FF1.5 could be in a completely different place to where I put mine, but when you urpmi mplayerplugin, it always puts them in /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins. Here is my config shown below, so you can try and replicate where necessary: [ian@europa ~]$ ls -l /usr/local/mozilla/firefox | grep plugins lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 24 Apr 20 10:47 plugins -> /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/ drwxr-xr-x 2 ian ian 432 Mar 8 21:46 searchplugins/ [ian@europa ~]$ ls /usr/local/mozilla/firefox/plugins/ libmozsvgdec.so* mplayerplug-in-qt.so* mplayerplug-in.so* libnullplugin.so* mplayerplug-in-qt.xpt* mplayerplug-in-wmp.so* mplayerplug-in-gmp.so* mplayerplug-in-rm.so* mplayerplug-in-wmp.xpt mplayerplug-in-gmp.xpt* mplayerplug-in-rm.xpt* mplayerplug-in.xpt don't know if that helps any. daniewicz
mplayerplug-in.so and mplayerplug-in.xpt need to be in: ~/.mozilla/plugins
sjaglin
ls -l /home/stephane/Firefox1.5.1/firefox | grep plugins drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 72 Apr 20 09:54 plugins/ drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 432 Jan 25 00:32 searchplugins/ Looks like my simlink didn t work isn t it? ianw1974
Looks that way, just remove the plugins directory, but make sure you move the contents from this plugins directory to /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins and then symlink to this directory. You will be fine then. My ~/.mozilla/plugins directory only houses the flash plugin, my mplayer ones are definitely pulled from /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins. The symlink saves having to duplicate the files, thus making things a lot easier.
