najand
I was trying to install Mandriva 2006 official DVD on an NEC laptop with the following description: Model: NEC LaVie PC-LR700CD Processor: Intel® Pentium® M Clock: 1.73 GHz RAM: 480 MB By default the MS Windows XP home edition was installed on it. I tried to install Mandriva using all graphical, Low resolution Graphical and verbose verions, but after the first scene that shows the installation is initiallizing, the screen goes black and nothing happens even after 20-30 minutes. I disconnected all accessories, USBs, IEEE 1394 ports and etc., but nothing happens, either. Anyone has any clues. I appreciate your help. scarecrow
For the record: 480 MB is rather odd. Does the AGP use 32MB of your system RAM (512 MB total) as exclusive video RAM or not?
