sjaglin
I found that : http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechS...35&mode=4&idx=0 while browsing on Phoronix. There is an rpm, I drakconfed it and nothing happens (still the 7174 on my distro). Any ideas?
scarecrow
That's a RHEL binary supposedly hardware-specific), unlikely to work on other distros/systems. And AFAIK last official driver is still 8178. http://download.nvidia.com/XFree86/Linux-x...0-8178-pkg1.run Flag the file as executable. Install at least kernel headers (or the full kernel-source). telinit 3 Run ./NVIDIA*.run and follow the instructions. By the way if you have an old nvidia card, you cannot go further than 7174, as it wouldn't be supported by the current driver. there are already several threads about that here.
