Guest Sh0wtime
I recently installed mandriva 2006 on my notebook, my first linux install. It went smoothly and I am really enjoying the new OS over my old windows interface. But i have expreinced one extreme problem. I am unabe to install my wireless card, as I do not have a functioning ethernet connection I am unable to connect to the internet save a few minutes daily at the local internet cafe. For this reason I do ask your fogivness if this is an easily solved proble. I have tried to use the windos driver unsing ndiswrapper but a message is displayed saying that there is no device present for the driver I am trying to use. Any help is aprciated, I am finding my new position as a noob a little frustrating. ianw1974
Use this command: lspci -n and it will give you some information for your card. Now you need to check the PCI-ID against the one on the ndiswrapper card database for your wireless card, and then download the driver they say that works for that card. Then you can continue following the ndiswrapper installation wiki to get your card working.
