shay
Ok..... So I've got to the point where I can start to install Mandriva 2006. The mother board is ASUS P5V800 with WD 80GB HD drive. After I choose the language I've been asked to use the driver for the HD I get: "What disk/Ide should I try?" I tried sata_via but it did not work. I tried all the other sata_* but it did not work as well..... I tried "linux noapic" I clicked on F1 when started, I typed "linux noapic". That did not work as well... what should I do ? Edited February 24, 2006 by shay
ianw1974
First, I suggest loading Windows onto your machine, and find out exactly the make/model of your sata controller. If you alread know this, please post what your sata controller is, so we can see if it's supported by Mandriva 2006. Alternatively, visit www.mandriva.com as there is a hardware compatibility list you can check against to see what components in your machine are supported. scarecrow
visit www.mandriva.com as there is a hardware compatibility list... ..which is useless. It never returned anything useful anytime I queried it: Mandriva claims it's still beta, but surely enough some Mandriva alphas I've used in the past were way more functional! :P
