lakelover
My Mandriva 2006 usually performs great but occassionally, it seems to trip on something, and grand to a halt. Tonight I was going to update a website using QuantaPlus, and it wouldn't load the web site. Then, as I started closing tabs on Firefox, it hung up for awhile before closing. It has taken minutes to clear the screen recently. Still I can go for several days with everything working as it suppose to. Any ideas on what's going on and how I might correct this? By the way, "spell check" doesn't work for me on this forum. Jerry
daniewicz
I am a Mandriva 2005 user, but I have heard 2006 users complain of Kat. It will index all your documents and let you easily retrieve them through a Google-like search engine. I am just guessing here, but this could be your problem. It can be uninstalled. Ixthusdan
I have also seen kat do this. Uninstall kat. I would also suggest clearing your browser's cache and history.

You will need to reinstall any plugins afterwards as well and these also sometimes cause lockups ...
