Guest sihox Posted January 1, 2006 Report Share Posted January 1, 2006 hello all when installing mandrake 10.1 there was a problem with the sound card. I had to run sndconfig after rebooting. so that's what I did. after I followed the installation instructions it gives the error "an error occured opening /dev/audio" . and thats normal because i don't have that directry. or I got the error "the following error occured tunning the modprobe program : fatal error inserting sb (/lib/modules/2.6.8.1-12mdh/kernel/sound/oss/sb.ko.gz) no such device. the sound card I'm trying to install is a sound blaster 32 happy new year Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
