Guest comanighttrain
Hey guys, i just installed Mandriva 2006 and im really impressed! Before i had only really used Slackware 10.1 on the client end of a Windows network. Now i want to set up mandriva as the host of the network, the problem is ill be having 2 windows XP systems and another mandriva system connecting to it. Iv not got much experiance of networking outside of windows and usually rely on the scripts but now i cant. Can someone give me advice on sharing the connection and getting file sharing working on the connections? I have tried using the setting up shared internet connection wizard but its not working in the machine im trying to give internet access to, its on (eth0) and is a windows XP machine. Any advice or links to documentation will be appreciated! :) thanks Dave
Qchem
Check out the pinned link on internet connection sharing at the top of this networking forum. You'll probably also be interested in reading the howto on samba that can be found here. Please post back if there's any problems.
