how do i come about installing a windows client, from a mandrake server 9.2.

im using pxe boot, but resently we got new computers, which mandrake don't reconice. (probely due to sata disc)

i need to make the client boot right up to the server and get the windows images (sysprep) and install it. is there anyway to do this fairly easy. im a noob.

Welcome to the board

Mandrake 9.x probably won't because it's running on an older kernel. Mandrake 10.0/10.1, LE2005 or 2006 would most likely support the hardware.

However, your question is pertaining to PXE boot. Have you set the BIOS to boot from a PXE network card? If not, then you'll have to do this. And you'll have to make sure it's before the hard disk, unless the hard disk is empty (ie: FDISK'd).

And if you have a PXE server running already, and it is issuing DHCP addresses, then the machine should already be able to connect if it was working previously.
