max
I have a dual boot system between mandriva 2005le and windows 98se. Now I plan to upgrade from 98se to windows 2000. I'll do the upgrade after erasing (formatting ?) all the windows 98se partition to start windows 2000 from scratch. The whole thing could be done as I did several times with 98se (i.e. installing windows 2000 and then rewriting the boot sector using the first cd of 2005le) ? Thanks. ianw1974
What will happen is Windows 2000 will overwrite the MBR so you can only boot Windows 2000. You can then boot from the Mandriva CD and press F1 and choose Rescue, which will then recreate the LILO/GRUB into the MBR, and then allowing you to boot back into Mandriva again. This will save you reinstalling Mandriva as well :P
