my network card is RTL-8139, onboard. It's using module: 8139too

My still connection keeps dropping.

I am about to try the 'Force no local APIC'

Anyone have any other idea why it's happening?

edit: after reading another forum, i shut down the Lisa Service, and it seems to have stopped all the error messages and hopefully the interface dropping.

Hi,

I've installed Mandriva 2006 few hours ago and can't online (writing from my reliable Ubuntu Breezy, on the very same hardware). My setup follow:

- NIC: Via-Rhine II on-board

- Motherboard: Soyo Dragon v2.0 (KT400)

Any ideas?

Best Regards,

André

I've split this from the other topic as the problems may not be related - and more people will see your post this way.

Welcome to the board!!

Can you post the output of /sbin/ifconfig as a start to diagnosing the problem? Can you also tell us a little more of your networking setup to get online (just a modem, a router, full blown network?)?

Qchem,

Since I posted on Forum, I conducted some tests and I've found that the acpi option passed to kernel was doing all the mess. The default install passes the option acpi=ht to the kernel and it was messing everything. I've removed the option and everything works fine.

Despite the problem solved, I'll conduct some tests and post the results here.

Best Regards,

André
