beesea
you can get them from a cooker mirror at: http://www.mandrakelinux.com/en/cookerdevel.php3 be careful though. they're just development rpms and may not work on your system speaking of gnome 2.2, has anyone tried it yet? if so, how is it? Guest Languid_Heap
I tried installing Garnome last night. Compile took 3 hours + and there were no errors. However, after the compile, there appears to have been some sort of install error. Haven't the patience to mess around any more with Garnome, but am looking forward to trying out Gnome 2.2. Is there a way to install Gnome 2.2 alongside previous versions of Gnome without messing up existing libraries? IIRC, people were doing this with 1.4 and 2.0... Guest Ender
Ok, I've tried to install gnome2.2 but I can't seem to figure how to upgrade my glibs with out completly uninstalling mdk. Anyone have any pointers here? I get this when I go to urpmi... urpmi libglib2.0_0-2.2.1-1mdk.i586.rpm installing ./libglib2.0_0-2.2.1-1mdk.i586.rpm Installation failed: libc.so.6(GLIBC_2.3) is needed by libglib2.0_0-2.2.1-1mdk libglib2.0_0 == 2.0.6 is needed by libglib2.0_0-devel-2.0.6-2mdk libglib2.0_0 == 2.0.6 is needed by libglib2.0_0-devel-2.0.6-2mdk Then when I go to urpmi glib I'm asked if its ok to remove basically all of mdk. Any way around this?? Thanks for the help.
Ixthusdan
The first kde texstar downloads tried to do that, and it was a bad base rpm. So, it looks like you need the cooker libs, and would not recommend doing that!
Guest egarner
it would be great if someone built these rpms for the 90 system. cooker packages will screw everything up, and the garnome builds are very buggy.....
