I did a fresh install bye the way.. 9.2 for me was the best.

Ok Ill install that kernel 2.4.xx can you tell me what do i have to do on the kernel of ml 10.1 ce and Ill do it. i know ill have to recompile the kernel. thanks

I’ve been using mandrake since 8.0 until 10.1 which i think its the worst of all mandrakes. Sound does not work at all (since 10) and think it’s a kernel problem because when I use any 2.4 kernel the sound its fine. I have a DVD writer which doesn’t work (I can’t see DVDs either) Internal zip drive doesn’t work (eve m$-dos can use this zip) My keyboard sometimes does not work (if I restart the X server works for some minutes) I was a Red Hat use (some years ago) until i saw mandrake, now I`m think of changing Can anyone help me ?

:D We we have the same problem, we need the same solution, anyway i appreciate any help in this case. by the way, i cant use kmix or aumix on kernel 2.6 causes it does not work at all. thank for the help

2.6.3-7 (for me) didn't work

I downloaded from an update mirror, but anyway it didn't work (with any 2.6 kernel) when i use any 2.4 works ok (kind of creepy sometimes) i want to have sound on kernel 2.6 'cause if i stay at 2.4 i have to do some changes on my system to have everything i use, like k3b (on 2.4 i have to have scsii emulation). any new idea? thanks

I did that, but it didn't work. i think its a kernel problem (2.6.3-13mdk), because when i log in using kernel 2.4.25-5mdk i have sound. i discover that today, `cause i was just using 2.6.3-13. I`ll update my kernel and i`ll see what happens.

I updgraded my pc (motherboard, precesor, memory,dvdburner) i did a fresh install of mandrake 10, but i have no sound at all. i tried changing the driver, sndconfig, etc. (my soundcard its and on board via ac97) and nothing seems to work. i had ml92 everything was fine, but with 10, things are diffent. thanks [moved from Software by spinynorman]

I downloaded from one ftp, but if it is the cd 4 and there are only 3 iso to download, thats kinda of strange isnt it? anyway for me that problem is solved Thank you

i found it on the web, but not on any of the 3 cds, and i cant install it.
