Guest bghosh00 Posted October 10, 2005 Report Share Posted October 10, 2005 i use mandrke 10.1 for desktop. whenever i install shorewall ( along with iptables) i cannot connect to the net after restarting. if i uninstall them, again after restart i can connect. i use adsl modem and by system is dual booted with windows. please tell me how to configure shorewall and iptables. or is there oother good firewall? i notice4d that gurddog installation requires iptables and shorewall. :o [moved from Software by spinynorman] Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

scarecrow Posted October 10, 2005 Report Share Posted October 10, 2005 Learning how to configure a plain rules based firewall is quite easy (although hardly the windows way, despite few simlarities with the Windows firewall and several SERIOUS server firewalls).
