Trio3b
Read FAQs, tips n tricks, checked usb.org, but nothing quite like this. Using 2005LE with KDE plugin a Jetway 128 USB 2.0 pendrive and MDV 2005LE puts an icon and automounts. Here's the fstab: /dev/sda1 /mnt/USB_DISK vfat pamconsole,exec,noauto,noatime,sync,codepage=850,iocharset=iso8859-1,managed 0 0 If I plugin a Lexar 128 USB 2.0 ....nothing no icon no auto no fstab Pretty sure they are both formatted vfat Just walked over to my MDK 10.0PC and they are both detected there. Here's the fstab of the Lexar in MDK 10 none /mnt/removable supermount dev=/dev/scsi/host1/bus0/target0/lun0/part1,fs=ex t2:vfat,--,umask=0,iocharset=iso8859-1,kudzu,codepage=850 0 0 Here's the Jetway in MDK 10 none /mnt/removable supermount dev=/dev/scsi/host3/bus0/target0/lun0/part1,fs=ex t2:vfat,--,umask=0,iocharset=iso8859-1,kudzu,codepage=850 0 0 I guess it's something to do with MDK10.0 viewing as a scsi device? Any idea what's up? Also in 2005LE a right click gives umount option, but in 10.0 its just open or properties, and I have just unplugged with no problems. Should I be unmounting in 2005LE? Thanks for any help Edited October 2, 2005 by Trio3b
Trio3b
noticed all three USB modules werel oaded on the MDK 10 PC where both pendrives were recognized, but on the 2005LE PC only uhci was loaded, so tried to load all 3 mods, (BTW, why is configuration done in modprobe.conf?).... no luck Then set BIOS PnP to yes and viola! But still, why did it recognize the Jetway and not the Lexar when PnP set to 'no'? Hmmmm.........
