theYinYeti
Hi, I'm in the process of buying an USB2 WiFi 802.11g stick. The best price I've found is 19.90 EURO for a SIS163-based device. So I went to Google as usual and asked it about sis163 and Linux. Eveywhere (including SIS own site), there are press releases about SIS having support for WinCE, Linux, Win98SE... for their "new" (2004) sis163 chipset. But I've found nothing "real" so far. No reference to some code, nor binary driver. No howto. No report. Not even any plead for help! So, has anyone any information on the current status of SIS163 support in Linux? Maybe it simply "just works" with plain kernel.org Linux... but somehow I doubt it... Yves.
arctic
From what I heard/read, SIS support of Linux is like a lottery. Some things have excellent support, some will never be supported. If there ain't some negative informations/experiences found with google, then I guess that the piece is supported.
