force hyperthreading on kernel 2.6.12-x series

Hi there,

 

how do i force hyperthreading smt on in the latest cooker kernel 2.6.12-x series? I've tried setting ht=on and acpi=ht in my lilo.conf but HT still remained off. I've compiled the kernel from the mandrake sources and already specified multiprocessor and SMT in the config.

 

any ideas?

Try installing a Mandriva kernel first to see if ht works. If it does it's a problem with your config.

yes, it does. but the 2.6.12 series have HT disabled due to some vulnerability

You can use kernel-smp-2.6.12.8mdk-1-1mdk.i586.rpm - it should work.
