jaraeez Posted August 4, 2005 Report Share Posted August 4, 2005 (edited) Hi, Ive installed openssh server & client on a MDK 2005 LE box. All works fine internally (LAN), I can ssh into the MDK box & logon etc... I have a smoothwall firewall & have port forwarded my DYNS to the MDK box (ive also forwarded webmin to the same box with no success ethier!!). I then use putty with the DNS address & I can see that it resolves to my current IP address, then then I recieve an error stating that the connection was "reset by peer" Ive checked my firewall logs & noticed this sshd fatal: Timeout before authentication for 192.168.X.X . I have also STF & added sshd:ALL to the hosts.allow file, checked the sshd_config file (don't really know what im looking for here but it looked alright from a logical point of view :-) ) Im now at a loss as to what to do or check & any ideas will be gratefully accepted.. & as stated ssh'ing from a LAN pc works fine..
