Biz Posted August 1, 2005 Report Share Posted August 1, 2005 Hello! :) I've configured a pc with mandrake 9.2 to act both as firewall/proxy.I've 2 NICs on the the machine onw facing the internet other my lan. The problem is that some time after starting the machine the network stops working. I checked syslog and found the following message: "kernel: Suspending via_rhine" (via_rhine is my NIC). streeter Posted August 4, 2005 Report Share Posted August 4, 2005 Don't know about the suspending prob, but these NICs should be on different networks, for instance 192.168.1.x and 192.168.2.x. I suspect restarting the network sets the routing table so that 'it works'. Set up 2 separate networks and you will probably find the problem disappears...
