WoMBaT Posted July 5, 2005 Report Share Posted July 5, 2005 Hello all, I am currently running LE2005 which installed by default kernel 2.6.11-6mdksmp. I need to download the source files and now am faced with a problem. There are two versions of two different files and I don't know the difference between the two or which one to download. The two files are kernel-source-2.6.11-6mdksmp (matches my kernel) and kernel-source-2.6.11-12mdksmp. There are also two "stripped" versions. Which one should I use? What is the -6 or -12 difference? Crashdamage Posted July 5, 2005 Report Share Posted July 5, 2005 Well, of course the -12 version is newer than the -6 version. Download the one that matches the kernel you are using.
