When I run ff8config, it says that Final Fantasy needs a Windows-95 compatible Midi device. When I run FF8.exe, it makes a lot of noise and nothing happens. Any suggestions? Since FF VI/ FF VIII won't work on Windows XP I gather Linux is the only viable solution - as there's no way I would go back to Windows 98 :-D .
