Hiya,

I recently went back to using mandrake (this is the first time I have used Linux on a Ati Card)

and my card is driving me mad :(

I have followed various tutorials, and worked through it myself using my (albeit limited) past knowledge of linux, however whenever I startx I get a blank screen, I cant ctrl + alt + backspace out, but the system appears not to have locked up as numlock etc still work if I press them (i know this isnt a good test, but when you have a blank screen its hard to do much else)

The Monitor also stays on as if its getting a signal, the light (next to the power button) drops to amber is it is not receaving a video signal.

Some files are attatched, so hopefulyl someone can help me resolve this, X works fine using the vesa driver, and allthough thats fine as I use it as a workstation I would like to get the Ati drivers running.

I have upgraded to 10.2 but for some reason my modem refuse's to work in that, so I thought I would drop back to what I know....

I wasent 100% what log file was the correct one, so I attacthed both

thanks in advance to anyone who can shed any light on this.

yeah I tryed that, I even went for 640x480 just to see, but that was the same

If it where just a blank screen due to resolution, wouldnt I be able to ctrl + alt + backspace out of it though ?

Will have a look through my logs and see if I can find the right one.
