largegroh
know where I might find these? I checked the hp site and all they had was windows drivers. If I am out of luck can you suggest something other than buying a new printer? Real newbie here but learning fast. edit; was not sure if this went in hardware for the printer or software because of the driver. sorry if i posted it in wrong category. Ixthusdan
Epson. Even cheap epsons seem to work in linux. I have a C64 that works great. However, there shold be a driver that works in CUPS. What have you done to configure it? 712 is a 700 series machine, so I would look for a 700 series hp driver in CUPS.
largegroh
ok I will look there. I have only tried to configure it through mcc with set printers and could not find anyway to do it. I will read up on cups and how to configure there. i searched for 712c printer with search but found none. thx for the start.
spinynorman
There's a driver listed at www.linuxprinting.org. [You guessed right - we include drivers under Hardware. :)]
erratic
I have an HP 712c and CUPS sees it right away. It installs for me on install. Go to MCC and try to install it there. I use ML 10.
largegroh
yes it installed for me also but when it prints i get half lines(bottom half) sometimes and it is very slow. I am thinking that it loaded a generic driver. may be incorrect but not sure how to check. edit: i am using md 2005 LE I am thinking that this is beyond me atm. same as installing nvidia drivers 77.14. I am guessing that I need much more learning before I can do these things. Edited May 13, 2005 by largegroh
