I installed postfix libsasl and libsasl-plugins, and I have enable smtp_auth in main.cf and now if I telnet to the server with the port of 25 I get a response

so now I have a situation where I get the following conversation:

# telnet localhost 25

Trying 127.0.0.1...

Connected to mail.yeah.net

Escape character is '^]'.

220 mail.yeah.net ESMTP Postfix

ehlo localhost

250-mail.yeah.net

250-PIPELINING

250-SIZE 10240000

250-VRFY

250-ETRN

250-AUTH LOGIN PLAIN

250-AUTH=LOGIN PLAIN

250 8BITMIME

auth plain *******

535 Error: authentication failed

but if I try the username and password in testsaslauthd -u user - p password

I get

0: OK "Success."

what's the problem,Posifix or the sasl?

Thanks!
