tube013
Hi. I'm trying to get my one remaining windows box, and my vmware virtual machine to be able to print to my printer connected to my linux box. I have samba configured to share the printer, via the drakwizard samba module, and can see it in network neighboorhood fine, I also can browse to the home directoy of the connected user, if I type in the directory (ie it isn't displayed, but is accessible). Problem is that when I try to add the printer to windows it goes okay, but once the printer is added I can't print to it, in the printer control panel I get a little red message: "Access denied, unable to connect". seeing that I have access to files, I can't figure out what I need to do to allow access to the printer. thanks for any help. tube013
Hate to reply to myself, but this might help others I got my stuff working, not sure exactly what it was, but I added the following to smb.conf: use client driver = yes the Global section and also added guest ok =yes to the printers section, and finally changed the print command to: print command = lpr -P %p -o raw %s -r now everything is working both from vmware and a windows box.
