reb2
on board graphics chips on via chipset motherboards darkelve. basically, they take a graphics card and shrink down to just a chip, and make it a part of the actual motherboard. they usually share system memory and are an ideal way to cut costs for office workstations. as the onboard graphics motherboards are usually somewhat cheaper than buying a seperate motherboard and graphics card. they do the same thing with sound chips and network cards and raid controllers etc etc..... they then become all in one motherboards and are very cheap compared to seperate items. personally i prefer not to purchase these all in one motherboards, but if cost is paramount, like in business then they serve a very good purpose. if you ain't got one don't worry about it. its good to know VIA are taking linux seriously though good for them!!! regards Edited April 12, 2005 by reb2
adamw
That's cool, I don't think the existing drivers for these chipsets are all that hot. epia systems are great little things.
