im trying to compile a program on a fresh mandrake 10.1, and i get this error :

* configure: error: Can't find X includes. Please check your installation and add the correct paths!

i tried to do a forum search but couldnt get specific enough (mostly because i couldnt run a search with 'x' in it) does anyone know what this means/ how to fix it?

thanks! lots of good info there.

this problem and the dang nvidia drivers have been my only hangups with mandrake so far.... and considering my limited experience with linux i would say mdk10.1 is pretty darn good. :P

yes i got the x includes problem fixed, and i got my urpmi mirrors and such set up, also got the program that was giving me problems installed.

however now i have a new one. im trying to compile klibido (cant find any rpms), and i get this error:

checking for KDE... configure: error:

in the prefix, you've chosen, are no KDE headers installed. This will fail.

So, check this please and use another prefix!

do i need to update kde or is there a more simple fix?
