bobterri
I have looked and looked and cannot find the Refresh and Sync Rates for my Dell Inspiron 5160 laptop (15 in. XGA Panel). I have contacted Dell support and they've told me that since I installed linux, I'm outta luck! I've been to www.linux-laptop.net and www.tuxmobil.org and haven't found a thing. I've googled/linux and nothing. I'm desperate becaue when I check my Xorg.0.log I find: (WW) NVIDIA(0): config file hsync range 31.5-48.5kHz not within DDC hsync ranges. (WW) NVIDIA(0): config file vrefresh range 59-75Hz not within DDC vrefresh ranges. Also, when I scroll in Firefox, it is really choppy. Can anyone help me? devries
What does Linux have to do with refreshrates? Just call Dell and ask for the specs of your screen. Then edit the /etc/xorg.conf. If you need help with the editing let us know. Good luck.
bobterri
Well, finally! After tons of Emails back and forth with the wrong information, I finally got someone at Dell to give me the right info. I got the right information into xorg.conf!
