aus9
I have Mdk 10.1 Ce std kernel 2.6.8.1-10 Most of my keys on my Labtec cordless keyboard work and I am using it now. some keys are not working correctly the exclaimation mark ! the tilde ~ the aprostophre ´ and the quotes ¨ The quotes and the apostophre are the ones I would love to have working first time. Now sometimes these work after doing a few presses and sometime I have to press shift then pause then press the offending key.......sometimes I have to press a key next to it and then the offending key and then delete the typo Not good. The batteries have been tested and a full. Any clues on what I do next. I spend all my time in KDE if that is an issue. thanks Edited December 17, 2004 by aus9
devries
Are you sure they are not dead keys? Hit ' and then <space>. Or ' and a for á. And check ofcourse if you have selected the right keyboard model and layout in the KDE control center. Try experimenting a bit and change the model and see what you get. Good luck. aus9
thanks I will try it, in the mean time I should have said when I open kwrite and type eg (shift) quotes and hold down shift and keep on pressing on that example key sometimes it prints to screen and sometimes not. I did not think of changing kb model simply because when it works it has the layout of what I need for a qwerty board.
