painesy
I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this but, I am setting up a server I am trying to find out how I cam set it up so no gui starts when the computer is booted up. I would just uninstall everything but I still want to be able to start up the gui for doing certain tasks. I was wondering if somebody could tell point me in the right direction as to how to do this. Qchem
I prefer to simply change the default run level in /etc/inittab to 3. Changing this back to 5 will give you a graphical session next time you boot. "telinit 3" may also be of use.
