Boot too long in Mandrake 10.1

Hi I'm using mandrake 10.1 on my HP nx7000(x1000)

booting freezes in two steps...

1.(short) detecting eth0 and eth1 ... not a prolem

2(loooong) after kde start image is seen but a loooong one, than it asks me to log in? after that no problem..

newbie needs help

hi there : )

some basic questions: how many ram do you have, what graphic card do you own (→ram)? i believe it could have something to do with bein slow on ram. kde needs at least 83 mbram to run in slow-motion, 128 for rather normal living, 256 mbram for a decent living, 512+ for a fast runnign system with lots of eye-candy. ;)
