Guest kapta
i have installed mandrake 10.1 the thing is i installed it with kde, and gnome uncheck however i did check other desktops, i started with windowmaker but then i installed kde from install apps, menu, i also selected start kde as default, but now when i reboot all i get is a blank screen, just a wallpaper, i get no box asking me for password or which desktop to choose nor does any desktop start, its just the wallpaper with mouse on it and nothing works or is clickable. i can however login if i press alt+F1 then type "init 3" then login as root and type "startx" this way kde starts but how can i fix it so kde starts at boot or i get the password box? devries
In the mandrale control center, startup, autologin you can edit this. Good luck.
Ixthusdan
Be sure you also installed kdm, kdmmdk or gdm. These will give you a login gui. kdmmdk should have installed by default, but you never know.
