For myself, I asked around and was recommended Mandrake as "an easy distro to get up and running with".

So far, I'm still learning , and I'd rather do that on one, stable OS than on a number of them. So I'll stick to Mandrake for the time being.

nothing is as easy and comes with a nice package selection like Mandrake.

SuSe, Fedora... Ubuntu also comes with nice packages, although it only comes with Gnome initially, so not as many choices as the others.

There are many distros that include a huge amount of packages on-disc. I remember a friend buying a Slackware box a few years ago that was seven discs in total and had a few thousand more packages than what Mandrake ships with (unless you buy a powerpack, I guess).

I love Mandy, but there are other great distros as well ;)

You sure that wasn't Debian and not Slackware?

Slackware has never had more than 4 cd's and it used to only be 2. Unless your talking in the beginning of Linux time when Slackware was like 30-70 floppy's :)
