And tried to find the rmp elsewhere. (kde.org, kdelooks.com etc. ) no luck ! Has anyone found a link where I can download the rmp ? fuzzylizard
A quick search on rpmfind.net located the missing file http://rpmfind.net/linux/rpm2html/search.p...=Mandrake&arch=
onurb
Why coouldn't I find it ?? Wich one is suited for my desktop ? the src or the alpha ? Bruno
fuzzylizard
I don't know, what kind of desktop do you have? The alpha one will be for alpha processors, if you are running an Intel or AMD processor then this is not for you. The source rpm is for you only if you plan on rebuilding the rpm at some time. I would probably download kdeartwork-3.0.3-6mdk.i586.rpm. Assuming you have a regular, standard install of Mandrake 9.0 running on a Pentium class processor. Stupid question, but what exactly does the kdeartwork rpm do? I just checked and I don't have it on my system either.
onurb
Have got a AMD 1700+, with 512 DDRram, 60gigHD. sis 735 motherboard So the i586 would be right ? Thanks for your patience with this nOOb. Bruno
fuzzylizard
Yep, download the i586 version. i586 simply means a Pentium class processor - P1, P2, P3, P4, AMD Athlon, Duron, K6(I think), etc.

onurb
Great it worked ! Got a lot extra Themes and screensavers. The basic install was very mean with screensavers and downloading extra ones from kdelook did not result in any succes. Gnome got a lot of screensavers, but I prefer KDE ! Thanks again Bruno
fuzzylizard
Is the Matrix screensaver included in kdeartwork?
onurb
No not the matrix ! The following are included: ( the * were there by default ) Banner Blankscreen * Blob Bouboule Lorenz Attractor Mandrake Slide Show * Media scrensaver Morph 3d (GL) Pipes (GL) Polygons Pyro Random * Rock Science (very nice in 4 different modes) Slide Screen Slide show Space (GL) Swarm Tux * Virtual Machine Greatings Bruno
fuzzylizard
Yep, I downloaded, very nice addition. I wonder why Mandrake left it out. Somewhere there doesn't like screensavers I guess. Still, I miss the Matrix screensaver from Red Hat. I wish I could figure out to get it to run in Mandrake. I looked in xscreensavers and it is not there. (This is the only thing I don't like about Mandrake)
onurb
You're absolutely right, I do mis a few nice savers that were included in mandrake 8.2 and other distro's aswell. Even Gnome left out my favorite from mandrake 8.1 and 8.2. Well, afterall it's just a nice toy a screensaver, but you only miss them as you don't have them ! Did you see the nice Icons ?? The Slick theme ? As a graphic artist I am very visual oriented . . . . Bruno
fuzzylizard
Yea, I have used those icons before. Right now I am using the crystal icons. http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=1586
