SoulSe Posted November 18, 2004 Report Share Posted November 18, 2004 Changing the permissions of your /mnt directory won't get you very far without having your fstab file setup properly. In this file you can set devs to make them writeable, etc. by users. $ man fstab Otherwise, you could use the 'chown' command to set your user as owner of the directories in /mnt. That is the Linux way to do things - you can't give users root privilege as such, it's insecure and doesn't make much sense. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
