YaAqoB
Hello all. I'm just curious to see if any one knows to how sort this problem. I have an external modem which Mandrake 10.1 detects fine. Every time i restart my PC i have to reconfigure my dial up internet connection. If i don't reconfigure it I get an error saying that /dev/modem is not ready. Once configured its fine untill the next restart. Is there anyway I can have it keep the configuration or make its self ready at boot up? Thanks Edited November 15, 2004 by YaAqoB
bvc
Do you configure it to use /dev/modem? That is a symlink to the actual ttyS<number>. When configuring, point it to the ttyS<number>. The symlink is not being created upon reboot.
YaAqoB
All sorted now, I just told it to use /dev/ttyS1 and it works every time now with out having to configure every time I boot. Thanks again.
