ezroller
Ok, so I decided after seeing screenshots of highly configed fluxbox that it was a must have. I'm using idesktop so I can use icons on my desktop but I have a few other questions. If anyone can help with any of these, it would be much appreciated. how can I get gkrellm to display on every desktop? how can I get gnome's afterstep clock running as a dock icon? or in the slit? How do I get things to autostart when flux starts? thanks in advance.
aru
Ok, so I decided after seeing screenshots of highly configed fluxbox that it was a must have. bvc
how can I get gnome's afterstep clock running as a dock icon? or in the slit?As far as I know, with the same -w. I believe that's how WindowMaker applets are run. Sorry I don't have the specifics but;http://fluxbox.sourceforge.net/docbook/en/html/ http://www.bensinclair.com/dockapp/ http://www.cse.unsw.edu.au/scripts/man?fluxbox Hey, I need to keep up with the new stuff! http://fluxbox.sourceforge.net/docbook/en/.../html/x147.html
ezroller
again..thanks for the links. haven't had a chance to check them, but I came up with another question: How can I have gkrellm running on every desktop?
bvc
Putting the -w, puts gkrellm in the slit. Make sure the slit is on in the ~/.fluxbox/init file, and set to not autohide, or look for the window position it's set to to find it. I think the default is Top Left. gkrellm -w &
beesea
How do I get things to autostart when flux starts? you can add the remember patch from http://bugfactory.org/~gav/fluxbox and it can autostart apps for you as well as remember things like window position and size. all you have to do is add a submenu called startup and any program you put in there will autostart. i think the man page has more info on that.
