a13x
This is very important. I want to update Gnome but I can't because of a stupid urpmi error.

Guest anon
Sounds to me like either that site doesn't really have all the files needed, or your missing some core files on your box. Is there not another site you can try? or do you feel like d-loading the source and building it yourself?
bvc
atm, that's the only gnome-2.8 rpms/repos for mandrake. Have you tried the media manager in Software Management. Yeah, I know it's a gui wrapper for urpm* but that fact is diff results occure between the 2. If you have the hd space use wget to download all the rpms and try adding an hd source to urpmi. a13x
After playing a little with the command I typed this: urpmi.addmedia gnome http://wwwra.informatik.uni-rostock.de/~waschk/Mandrake/gnome2.7/ with synthesis.hdlist.cz without the " ../ " before 'synthesis......'. Then I tried to update again and this time it worked. But this resulted another set of problems ............. which I'm trying to fix ... I downloaded most of the stuff at the repository except some libs. AFAIK that's the probable cause for the errors I get. I'm downloading them now. edit; Success !! Everything is working just fine but I want to do some configuration ..... I'll mark the thread solved - Artificial Intelligence Edited November 5, 2004 by Artificial Intelligence
