Odd Webmail Problem with 10.1C [SOLVED]

I have what I think to be a unique situation... Running MDK 10.1C on a Compaq Armada m700 latptop. I can't login to webmail at https://secure.netfirms.com/memberswebmail. Odd. I don't get an error, it doesn't even get far enough to check my username and password. What happens, regardless of what i type in the forms, is the page "loads" for a while (much longer then a time out) and then I get an error saying that the page is empty. I can login from any other computer, but not the laptop. I thought it was my wireless card, so I changed from my pcmcia to the built in ethernet hub. I thought it was my configuration, so I reinstalled. Fresh out of the box, I get the same thing. I thought it was my firewall, so I did a direct connect to my cable modem. I'm certain it's not the isp b/c I called. I'm at my wits end here. It's not ssl or https, b/c I can get in to other sites using https. I can even telnet in to the site on port 110 (to check pop mail), but I can't get the pop mail off the sever using Kontact.

Anyone have any clue as to why this one site on this one machine would be giving me such a headache?

Thanks,

Jeremy

According to Google it could be some configuration problem with MTU size and DSL. They seem to recoomend setting MTU to 1492.

To change it this site says do:

This worked like a charm!!!!

In Linux (Mandrake 7.2)

# /sbin/ifconfig eth0 mtu 1410

- to try it out (assuming eth0 is your ethernet port).

To make the change stick across reboots I added a line:

MTU=1410

to file: /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0

(values slightly larger than 1410 may work also, refer back to the initial post)
