phunni
OK - I've just started playing with xfce4 and I have a couple of questions: 1) is there a way to minimise everything in one go? 2) How can I access the root menu with apps open? 3) Is there something I can have in the panel which will show network activity? 4) Is there something I can have in the panel which will show when I have new mail on the server? (not just in a local mbox...) I guess that'll do for now :D

DragonMage
I guess people here are either using heavy desktops like KDE or Gnome or very light wm like fluxbox.. XFCE is just too middle ground for them :) Anyway, have you tried going into xfce's own website to find the info you need?
phunni
yeah pretty much - and I've got things almost how I could like them. Trying to use gdekslets to make up for the weather and email apps that I had going in flux - not completely right just yet... Not sure whether I'll stick with xfce4 for the longer term, but I'll give it a couple of weeks so that I know I've given it a good shot... fred_the_fish
Phunni, how complicated was it to setup? I saw a link off FedoraNews and was considering replacing KDE with it (keeping Gnome as my main DM until I was comfortable with it..) How much scope is there with it - how well do apps work, and how much apps do work - such as Firefox, Thunderbird, Gaim(or equiv), XMMS etc? phunni
I found it very easy to set up and everything seems to work fine. My only issue is figuring out how to replace all the dockapps I had in flux...
