Glitz
XFree didn't support suspend mode last I checked (which was a while ago) so the video card registers are not restored when the unit is brought out of suspend mode. That may be why your screen is messed up in all but text mode. Glitz.
liquidzoo
That would definitely explain it. I'm still wondering about the 2 copies of gkrellm running on boot, though. That one has got me a bit puzzled.
Guest dturley
I've got an "old" Dell Inspiorn 3500 runing MD 8.2 and closing the lid suspends the machine. When I open it up it takes 20 seconds or so to clear up the screen but all is well after that. I didn't do anything to configure, it just worked. :-/
liquidzoo
Doesn't seem to be working on my 8200 with MDK 9. Another question related to the resolution problem, though. If I leave my laptop long enough for the screensaver to come on, it seems to screw up the resolution. My only option is to log out and back in again. I would like for it not to do this at all, but I'm not sure how I would go about doing so. Would it have something to do with my choice of monitor? (I chose Generic Flat Panel 1400x1050)
