Guest bootsy
I had the same problems and possiibly still do - however by choosing linux instead of linux-enterprise at the bootloader I got around this.
Guest mechjag
I tried several bootloaders and they all had the same problem. It looks like a problem with the way mandrake boots up. Suse is running great.
adamw
could be a kernel issue. try acpi=off noapic as boot parameters.
cwchia
The whole thing is a really a test for my company to see if a machine running linux can run AutoCad 2002 and open and edit drawings in a timely fashion. I need a stable autocad to run in linux and access a windows network domain. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You mean trying to run AutoCad under Wine or some other emulator?, hmmm interesting. I've tried to open some .dwg files created by AutoCadLT with QCad. This Cad runs under Linux and is included in MDK though not installed by default, not need for emulator. ttellefsen
I just installed mandrake linux 10.0 and it installed all right. It rebooted and failed at the "bringing up interface eth0". Then it just reboots and locks up. Please help, this is the first time using linux. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Do you have another network device attached, such as a wireless device? If you do, Linux is trying to start it. I found that if I disable ModProbe then it will not hang. You may have to get it working first by using the std interface (Not GUI). Anyone else have additional info to get him in?
