DJ_Max
Hello, I'm about to install Mandrake ppc 9.1 on my iMac. And I was wondering how many of the three ISO images do I need for a "recommended" install? Regards
devries
I don't know about the ppc version but with the x86 you only need CD1.
DJ_Max
Ok, thanks a lot. I'll try the one cd, and see what'll happend. As for the most part the other iso are extra software. If not, then I'll just download the rest, but it takes me about 2-3 hours each image, and I want to get this done before I go off to bed :)
liquidzoo
I believe there is a 10.0 ppc version...why not use that? And for the base install of most MandrakeLinux releases, you only need cd1. The other 2 contain extra packages that you may want, but a working system can come from just a 1 cd install. DJ_Max
Is there a 10 PPC version? On the download page, the latest is 9.1 http://www.mandrakelinux.com/en/ftp.php3 ftp://mirrors.secsup.org/pub/linux/mandra...ficial/iso/ppc/ The i586 architcture is the only one i see that as 10 Edited September 6, 2004 by DJ_Max
liquidzoo
I guess I was wrong. I thought there was. However, there is a version of 10.1 for ppc. It's alpha right now, so it's not entirely stable and I wouldn't recommend it until it becomes final, or RC2 at the very earliest.

DJ_Max
I wouldn't have expected anything else from Mandrake :D <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Heh, I have a friend who is real religous when it comes to OS's, and he's the one who told me to use Mandrake. I do plan on building me a PC, and more then likely it'll be running Mandrake.
