Cannonfodder
eth0 is your network interface.. either the hardware went bad, or you need to reconfigure your network interface... can't stop to tell you how, gotta run!
Lowe
I was messing around with the internet settings, then when i tried to shut down it froze, so i turned it off, back on again, then i got that error. Any ideas how to fix it with out re installing? Edited August 31, 2004 by Lowe
Darkelve
Well, I don't know how to *solve* it, but if you wait for about a minute, it will say 'fail' and continue booting. You can use your desktop then, but you won't have a network connection until you solve the problem.
Lowe
Actually i can't connect at all in linux anyway because of my crappy adsl modem (bt voyager 100) so until my ethernet modem comes, it doesn't really matter anyway. :(
