Draco Araurlis Posted August 30, 2004 Report Share Posted August 30, 2004 Setup is a MDK 10.0 box with 2 NICs and a winmodem - all three working as a standalone machine. When I engage dhcpd everything continues to work and clients (Windows) can ping each other and the server. The problem occurs when I try to share the internet connection (dial up ATM) and engage the iptables. What happens is that the dialup connection starts on boot even though it's been told not to and I can't log in to the box. I get the login pronpt but it won't accept any username/password. I've stopped trying to start the DNS server at the same time but still have the same issue. Any hints as to what may be wrong? I'm on a clean install ATM with just the modem working.
